    This book is the result of a study on familiacides a parent killing their children, and often themselves in Western Australia It s an academic text and pretty dry, but the devastation wrought by these events does show through Because there weren t that many familiacides in Western Australia to begin with, and because the author only studied those cases where the surviving parent was willing to be interviewed, the study was quite small I think about seven cases All the familiacides were committed by men, not because the author intended to exclude women killers but because there just weren t any.From what was written here, it doesn t look like Australian familiacides are that different from American ones The father has a long history of abusive, controlling acts towards their partner and behavior suggestive of mental illness curiously, the author suggests Borderline Personality Disorder rather than Antisocial Personality Disorder, the latter of which is common among criminals , and when the mother finally leaves him, he kills the children and often kills himself at the same time, or tries to T...
